There are a number of protected characteristics of individuals such as age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion of belief, sex or sexual orientation. If an employee is discriminated due to one or more of these protected characteristics the employee may be able claim for discrimination.

There is not a requirement for having worked for a particular length of time to bring a claim to an Employment Tribunal for discrimination.
